Upload main image here: ![]() ![]() ![]() | I joined Bohemians from Sligo before the start of the season and it´s been a bit of an injury nightmare. I tore my groin in pre-season training and then when I came back I fell badly and dislocated my shoulder in an away match at Derry City. That put me out for five months and I´ve only been able to play the last few games. Our last match of the season is on Friday against Cork City and I´d like to just get through that and then get myself fully fit before next season. It´s been a decent season for the club – we are third at the moment in the league, lost the League Cup final and got to the FAI Cup semi-final. Next season it would be great to push on a little bit and get some silverware. It was a good opportunity for me to come to Bohemians who are a big club with a big fan base. I was looking forward to showing them what I can do, but now that will have to wait. I´ve enjoyed my time in Irish football and it´s been great to be playing first team football up until my injury. I wasn´t getting that in England and I know this has been a good move for my career. The standard is good and I like the life in Ireland. I have another year on my contract at Bohemians and we´ll just have to see what happens. It´s a great club to be at and I´m not thinking much beyond getting fit again and playing or this club. Ultimately I would probably look at going back to England to try and make it at the higher levels there. But if I´m to do that I have to be performing at my best for Bohemians and that is what I promise our fans I will do next season. I hear there has been a big push in England to get more Asians involved in professional football and that´s a great thing. I think in the past there has been a bit of a cultural stumbling block, but that´s changing. There´s a different generation coming through who see football as a proper career and I´m sure many Asian parents would now much prefer their children to be playing football at a club rather than sitting around playing computer games. They have to get involved with a club at the youth level like I did at Leeds. I joined Leeds at 10 and that´s what the lads need if they want professional careers. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
